What is the difference between Hard, Soft & Hard/Soft nightguards?

Hard Nightguards:
Hard nightguards are built for maximum durability and protection. Made from rigid materials like acrylic, they provide strong resistance against teeth grinding and clenching during sleep. These nightguards are especially recommended for individuals with severe bruxism or heavy grinding habits. Although they may initially feel firm, their sturdy construction ensures lasting performance.

Soft Nightguards:
Soft nightguards focus on comfort while still offering effective protection. Crafted from flexible, cushioning materials such as silicone or rubber, they deliver a gentle, comfortable fit. Ideal for those with mild to moderate grinding or clenching, these nightguards absorb the pressure from grinding, helping to protect the teeth and relieve jaw tension.

Hard/Soft Nightguards:
Hard/soft nightguards offer the best of both worlds by combining hard and soft materials. They feature a durable, rigid exterior for protection, paired with a soft, cushioned interior for enhanced comfort against the teeth and gums. This dual-layer design provides a balanced solution for individuals with varying levels of bruxism, offering both strength and comfort for effective, long-term wear.

How do I know if I took a good impression?

Taking accurate impressions is essential to ensure the proper fit and performance.

Make sure the impression material fully covers all necessary areas, capturing the entire arch or dental ridge, including the gums and any remaining teeth. There should be no gaps, voids, or thin spots—the material should have an even, consistent thickness throughout. Maintaining proper thickness is important for creating a stable and secure model or appliance. When removing the impression tray, it should release smoothly and comfortably from your mouth.

Once you've completed your impressions, please send a photo of them to ritebyteusa@gmail.com. We'll review it and let you know if it looks good or if adjustments are needed.
